Resigned, Waiting

Resigned, Waiting
Two metaphors
Mirroring, yet not

Acres of green all around
The Windowless confines
Resigned to dream

Feeble steps into the dark
Aged crutch on thorny path
Waiting for light

Resigned to wait
These burdens rest light

  2. Good morning - I accidentally came to your blog because my girl friend's blog starts with the "winged words" phrase also and I mis-typed the URL.

I don't usually read much poetry but I did stay to read at least one poem - if for no other reason than out of respect for the musings of another person when I so accidentally barged in. I usually scan-read because of the years I've spent scanning programming manuals for some coding detail that I needed.

I had to read this poem a couple of times before images and understanding began forming in my mind. Your words presented such a wistful and gentle understanding of an aspect of life, a time of life that I'm moving into now (perhaps a little on the kicking and bucking side). I'm glad that I stayed to read your poem. Thank you for your sensitivities.
